Welcome

The QUEST CENTER is an initiative by the City of New Bedford to provide a focus for entrepreneurial training and a location for business start-up activity as a critical economic development activity for the SouthCoast of Massachusetts. It is a collaborative partnership project between the City of New Bedford, acting through the New Bedford Economic Development Council, and the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.

The purpose of the QUEST CENTER is to create new companies with growth and job-generation potential and complement and extend the incubator capacity of the University. The primary focus of the QUEST CENTER will be on marine/maritime technologies, life sciences and software development that could generate new companies.

Through the efforts of the City of New Bedford, with financing form the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) , the City, Community Development Block Grant funds, and New Directions (the city's job training agency), a partially abandoned building was completely rehabilitated and provides 12,000 SF for incubator space as well as administrative and support services. Approximately 4,000 SF of space is set aside for start-up companies

Rates for QUEST CENTER space start as low as $250.00 per month for single person space in a shared office environment to $1,000.00 per month for a large office space with space for 4 to 5 work stations. Rates can be reduced by participation in programs utilizing UMass Dartmouth student intern program or intern programs from other colleges and community colleges.
